Introducing Utospace, a functional set of stainless steel planters and candleholders designed by Irene Yeung. This innovative design combines form and function, offering a versatile and aesthetically pleasing addition to any space. The inspiration for Utospace comes from the ideal country of Utopia and the Asian philosophy found in the Analects of Confucius Zilu. Both sources represent spiritualism, harmonious integration, and great unity, which are reflected in the design.

What sets Utospace apart is its unique ability to be assembled or used separately, bringing out the meaning of "Harmony in Diversity." The set includes three removable candlestick holders that can be used individually or assembled into the middle plate. The base of Utospace also doubles as a tray for separate use, adding to its functionality.

Made from high-quality stainless steel grade SUS316 (SS 18/10), Utospace is not only visually appealing but also durable and long-lasting. The metalworking techniques used in its production include stamping, pressing, and CNC metal spinning. These techniques ensure precision and quality in every piece.

With dimensions of Diameter 250 x Height 115mm, Utospace is designed to be both aesthetically unique and highly functional. It can be used as tableware or home decor, adding a touch of elegance to any setting. The sleek stainless steel finish complements various interior styles, making it a versatile addition to any space.

The Utospace project began in November 2022 in Hong Kong and was completed in February 2023 in China. Throughout the design process, extensive research was conducted to explore different metalworking production techniques and mold designs. The challenge was to push the boundaries of creativity while ensuring the design was feasible for production. The use of CNC metal spinning for the candlestick holders was a breakthrough in achieving the desired assembly and functionality.

Utospace has been recognized for its excellence in design, receiving the Iron A' Design Award in the Decorative Items and Homeware Design category in 2023. This prestigious award is given to well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements.
